Foreign film help, spanish speaking actors, about serial killer and the end of the world.? From what I remember, the film takes place in Spain or some spanish area of that region. A man arrives at his brother's farm to care for his nephews and nieces. There is a nuclear Apocalypse or end of the world stuff going on. A suspicious man shows up to the farm, is suspected of being the serial killer that has terrorized the region, but is told to leave. I remember the Serial killer knocking on the door of the farmhouse at night to ask for some soap, and he is told to leave the farm. The next day, the uncle locks the oldest niece and oldest nephew in the barn, and takes the younger ones to town, where everyone is dead. He drops off the kids at an arcade while he walks around town looking for survivors. He runs into a woman he seems to know. He ends up back at the barn only to find that the serial killer has gotten to his nephew and niece. He drives around in his van with his nephew and niece and find his abducted niece tied up and bound in a chair on a set of train tracks. The serial killer jumps him from behind, beats him and reminds him that he was the one who hung him(the uncle) from outside his room when he was a kid. The serial killer then takes his shotgun away and shoots the niece. The serial killer takes off in the van with the two kids. THe niece who was shot survives because the shotgun was loaded with salt. Uncle ends up finding the serial killer at the cement factory, finds his niece hung. Saves his nephews after fighting with the serial killer and impaling him on a hook, and a nuclear blast throw him off the second or third floor of the cement factory. The movie ends with the uncle showing up at the farm, and the woman he met in town shows up. They hug, and three is a final nuclear blast( or asteroid hit). Any help would be greatly appreciated. I saw this movie late one night on either the Sundance channel or the IFC channel
What is the name of this Spanish-language film? There is a film my high school Spanish class watched a couple of years ago, in which a mother and her daughter kill (in self defense) the mother's boyfriend or husband, who was attempting to rape the daughter. For some ridiculous reason, instead of calling the police and reporting that they killed someone in self defense, they decide to hide them in the freezer in the restaurant the mother works for. Meanwhile, her boss is out of town and a film is being made in the area, so the mother is running the restaurant and providing the food for the film crew. She meets a nice guy, a producer or director or something like that, and they hit it off. I never saw the end of the movie, and I just remembered it now for some reason, but I can't remember what it's called. Does anyone know which film I'm talking about? Even if you don't know the name, any leads (an actor who you think may have been in it, etc) would be quite appreciated!
English or Spanish Film ? I want to write a feature about Puerto Rico, I would like to shoot it in PR, but my question is, should I shoot it in Spanish or English ? If I shoot in English, I risk finding actors with accent when they speck English but if I film in Spanish I don't have to worry about accent, but Im afraid to lose the American Target because I doubt, Americans would like to read a feature length subtitled movie What should I do ?
Black actors in Spanish and French cinema? Am I being naive to think I can find a French or Spanish film with Black actors? I mean movies that have a Black ( African and/or mixed people) in the shot for more than one second and don't depict them as raging sex addicts. The only thing that comes remotely close to what I'm talking about are the Josephine Baker movies and another film called "Faces of Women"(but even those aren't the best examples). Maybe I'm not looking in the right places, but it seems easier to find Black actors/movies of all depictions and genres in American and British cinema. If you have any movie suggestions, please list them and the country of origin. Actually, I don't care if the Black people are in stereotypical roles, as long as they are in the movie for more than one scene! Thanks for your help. Thanks, Louisa. If no one else can give more suggestions, you will definitely get the points. I wish jackasses like the first answerer wouldn't waste my time, but I'm glad you came along to give me some things to look up.
Anyone know any good Spanish films? Does anyone know of any Spanish films (Spanish speaking) that are quite recent - within the past few years or so. Doesn't matter what type of film but would prefer an action film or a computer animated films. I would prefer if the film was originally Spanish, so that the mouths of the actors actually move in time with the words.
Do you know any good films in Spanish? On Saturday I'm trying the Superior Exam of the Spanish Language and want to train my listening a bit watching films. If you have seen any good film in Spanish (not necessarily a Spanish production, it could also be a Mexican, Argentinian or even American productions, as long as the actors speak in Spanish in the biggest part of the movie), please tell me!
Why do american films always cast a European/British actor as the villain? I know in some films, and video games most of the villains are British, German, French or sometimes Spanish or like in die hard, a British actor pretending to be German (Alan Rickman FTW) Why is this? P.S I Know some films have the bad guy american, but most I've seen are British men as baddies

Young Spanish Actors? Hi, I've recently been reading a really good book, and I was thinking about who I would cast if the book become a movie/film. There's one guy in the book who is Hispanic, and i'm finding it difficult to find an actor who I would cast to play him. Are there any young spanish/hispanic actors out there and can you tell me who they are? Preferably they will need to be in their early twenties, however late teens and late twenties does not really matter. Thank you in advance =D

Any Spanish people here? Translation help.? Could anyone translate this text for me? I would be eternally grateful. Antonio Banderas, one of Spain's most famous faces who was a soccer player until he broke his foot at age 14, is now an international film star best known as Zorro He was born in Málaga, Andalucia, southern Spain, the son of a school teacher, and José Domínguez, a policeman in the Guardia Civil He also has a brother, Francisco. Banderas was raised as a Roman Catholic, but no longer follows the religion. He took his mother's surname as his stage name. He wanted to play football professionally, but his dream ended when he broke his foot at age 14. As a young man, he traveled to Madrid, in order to make a career in the Spanish film industry. Banderas' acting career began at the age of 19. He began his acting studies at the School of Dramatic Art in Málaga, and made his acting debut at a small theatre in Málaga. Being a struggling young actor, he also worked as a waiter and took small modeling jobs.

English to Spanish Translation? I am currently doing my GCSE's and i have been in hospital ill and so have missed some well needed vocab and work on tenses. I need to do a presentation on my favourite film and memorise it. Basically could somebody please help me with translating what i want to say from English to Spanish? thankyou x My favourite film is The Grown Ups. The Grown Ups is about an American Middle School Basketball team who won their league and became a group of best friends. The film is set years later when they are adults and they have lost touch, many leading different lives. It takes the death of their coach to bring them together at his funeral. It is at the funeral that they decide to take a holiday with their families to the place they grew up. Their children are not as happy as their parents as they have to live without their television and gadgets. One of the wives is not happy as she was meant to be travelling in Milan with the rest of her family to showcase her new fashion range. The film stars actors such as Adam Sandler, Chris Rock and Penelope Cruz. This film is my favourite because it is very funny as the adults reflect on their childhood and teach their children how they used to have fun without playing on video games. The film is a comedy and was released in 2010. I bought it on DVD and watched it in Spain with my brother and sister.

What Do You Think - Director Gets Child Porn Charges for Airing "A Serbian Film" in Spain? Spanish newspaper El Pais is reporting that the Sitges Film Festival’s director – Angel Sala – has been charged with the exhibition of child pornography for screening A Serbian Film at the October 2010 festival in Barcelona. This is a developing story so it’s unclear whether the Spanish court will accept the case or if the charges would stick. But remember – we’re not talking about the filmmaker here. This is the director of the Sitges Film Festival which seems utterly ridiculous. The film is about a retired porn actor who is lured into making an underground porno movie and it some of it involves having sex with children. The two scenes causing the stir (one with a baby, one a small child) were by all accounts filmed with a doll and/or animatronics instead of on-screen minors. No child was put in harm’s way. In If this should go through, Angel Sala could spend a year in jail for screening a film – and everything could change for independent and new filmmakers. Censorship is Bad, mmkay? http://www.gorestruly.com/2011/03/10/a-serbian-film-brings-child-porn-charges-in-barcelona/

After an argument with Laura, Simon disappears. It's a stunning film with a twist and thrillers. In the filming industry, why are most exotic languages spoken with a fake British accent? Whether the actors are portraying German, Swiss, Spanish, Italian, all foreign characters (except maybe Asian) speak American English with a British accent. Also, a British accent is used in period films, even as far back as the ancient Greeks. Are we supposed to believe that this poor excuse for reality makes the audience believe that the character is simply playing a role other than a modern American? This is so lazy and tacky in film production.

(Fluent Spanish Speakers)Translate this paragraph into spanish please? It's really short, only about 150 words? Last week I went to go see the hottest successful ,new moon. I bought the tickets for me and my friends and we were extremely excited for the film. It is an action and love story. It follows the story of a young girl named Bella Swan who falls in love with a vampire and then a werewolf. The special effects were excellent, but the acting was very poor. I did not really like the main character,Bella. I found her to be annoying. The leading man,Taylor Lautner however, was very attractive I liked him a lot, and he was an excellent actor. I would recommend this film because of the good special effects, the fascinating characters, and great direction.
how would i translate these phrases to Spanish? 1. Both of these actors are very talented. 2. I like Adam Sandler because he is very funny and I enjoy all comedy films with him acting. 3. a question about the film "vanilla sky"? had anybody ever watched the film "vanilla sky" starring tom cruise? i was told that the film had an origional version which was in spanish or italian or french...i am not sure. does anyone knows the name of the origional one? the actors or the director? thanks!
Who is the coolest group in 2009 #2? Black Americans Caribeans Eastern Europeans Western Europeans Spanish I asked this before and got some 'tarded answers by whites who don't want to admit that Blacks are the most popular group, culture wise, in the world. Maybe that's only my opinion, so here is another try, and this time i include Europeans (IN EUROPE). Who say ye I chose Black Americans (I'm African) because -Hip Hop is a world wide phenomenon -Jazz was a world wide phenomenon -The highest grossing film actor is Black -Black ppl essentialy dominate the arts and sports in the U.S. -Obama is the biggest celebrity since Hitler Basically, if the world was a highscool, Black Americans would be the jocks, Asians would be the nerds, and Whites would be mediocre In order to qualify, a part of that groups culture, has to be emulated by other groups, by their own free will That's why Whites, by and large, fail because almost every aspect of culture that is "emulated" by others, was forced down their throats during colonization Therefore, i am referring to POST-COLONIAL cultures that were commandeered by other groups, hence: language, "beauty", etc do not apply For the record, i'm not being racist. I'm simply stating an opinion, and using no less tact than was used by answerers in the previous question
Could someone please translate this into Spanish ? (No Google Translate)? Hey guys. So, I have just been given a piece of coursework for tomorrow (ONE DAY TO DO IT ???) and I will no way be able to do this to a A grade standard by myself. Usually I would go into school and spend time on it with a teacher to help me but I just don't have time to do it the good way. Could someone please translate the following passage into accurate Spanish ? None of this google translate shite please, this is extremely important to me. Tenses and verb endings would be appreciated. Anyone who does do this will get 10 points and a massive invisible hug. Of course this isn't a 5 minute task so.. The film I will be speaking about is "The A Team". It is an action film that was directed by Joe Carnahan. The film is about a Colonel in the army, Hannibal Smith (Liam Neeson) who creates a squadron of men after they all leave active duty. The rest of the team, Templeton Peck (Bradley Cooper), BA Baracus (Quiton Jackson) and HM Murdoch (Sharlto Cooper) accompany him escaping the Mexican army, which is when they decide to become a proper special forces unit. Throughout the course of the film they visit different countries to clear their names after they are framed for a crime they did not commit. The film is set in many locations, these include Mexico, Afghanistan, Iraq, Germany and Switzerland. It takes place in the current day, at most a few months in the future. The special effects in the film are very good, the explosions are well done and it feels like you're in the middle of a war. All the actors/actresses played their parts well and I would like to see more films with them in if I could. This is because I really enjoyed the film and did not find it boring at any stage. The ending was very interesting, it was sort of like a cliffhanger but not to complex. The villain was put in jail and everyone had their name cleared. It was a good ending in my opinion because it was what the audience wanted to happen. I would recommend seeing this film to anyone who likes action because it is the perfect action movie and has loads of exciting moments. I would not recommend it to anyone who does not like violent scenes because there are a few. The next film I would like to see is the "Green Hornet". Superhero movies are usually funny and have funny storylines. I think I would like this film because I enjoyed "Kick Ass" and they are going to be similar. I know this seems like a big task, but it is soooo important. If anything is too complicated, feel free to change it too something similar. So long as it makes sense and is like a Spanish person writing it. Thanks so much ! <3
please what is the title of this film? i saw it in spanish and i think the title was "the (and one word)". there were just two actors, they are very famous but i cannot remember who they are, i think one may be Michael Caine. The film is about shifting of power because of the killing of one of the character´s wife or something like that. The whole film takes place in a castle or mansion and it is very theatrical. I cannot find anything about this film here in Spain and no one seems to know about it (dont you have the feeling that sometimes you must have been the only one to have seen a movie?) thanks that is the one...what does sleuth mean? Is it "detective" or something like that?
Spanish coursework - Work and Future Ambitions. Someone please help!!!? Please can someone good at spanish translate this for me please. Its not cheating, as i only just need to memorise it so i can rewrite it. Dear Sir My exchange partner tells me that you work in a global company in Spain and i am very interested in coming to do some work for you. I am very friendly and get on well with colleagues and friends, people always find me very hardworking and a very responsible person. This is why i think i would be suitable for the role. At school i like to study languages, and i enjoy learning spanish very much, because i find it so interesting, and i know that it's a very useful language. Last year i did work experience in a Nursery, i didn't enjoy it that much, because i found it very boring. I didn't enjoy looking after the older children as much as i enjoyed looking after the younger children, because the younger children were more welcoming. My boss was very nice, and i did enjoy working with her, because she always made sure i was okay, and that i had something fun to do. I currently have a part time job working in a cafe, i am really enjoying working there because i have met so many interesting people, and i have made new friends who also work in the cafe. Although i don't think i will be able to keep the job for much longer as i will have to concentrate on my exams that are coming up in the summer. After school, i would like to take a gap year, so i could travel around the world, and become a more cultured person. I would also like to have the time to take up a new hobby and learn something different and useful. In the future i would like to go into the Film industry, because i love films, and i would really enjoy getting involved, with loads of other people with the same interest. It would be amazing to work with famous actors and directors, and i would love to one day direct or produce my own film. With the money i would earn, i would love to buy a flat in New York, because i have always wanted to live in America. Although i would miss my family very much. I would like to save up some money, so i could buy my parents a new kitchen, because they are always complaining about their kitchen at home. Although i would love to buy a dog, because i have always wanted a dog, but my dad has never liked the idea of having one, even though he used to have dogs as pets when he was younger. I hope you allow me to come work with you in Spain. Thank you very much, yours sincerely.

. My Translation: I go to the movies often with my girlfriend but more with my friends. I prefer to rent DVDs because you can see them again and again. Last weekend, I saw Tropic thunder, I thought it was hilarious because of Robert Downey Jr. I think it is Ben Stiller's best film so far. I would recommend it. My favorite film of the year is The Dark Knight. It was out of this world. Christopher Nolan created a masterpiece. All of the actors were on top form and I think that it was Heath ledger's best performance and he should win an Oscar. However I do not think the next film will be as good.

Does anyone know what movies the Mexican actor Cantinflas was in? I am looking for a list of movies that Cantinflas acted in so that I can do a presentation on one of them for my Spanish Conversation class. I was wondering which ones he has been in and why any one of those is your favorite film with him in it. One more thing, is that they, of course, must all be in Spanish. Maybe I should rephrase my question and ask this instead: what movies did Cantinflas act in? Then again, I speak to soon. Wow, what an astoundingly great answer this first responder has provided. Thanks a million!!!

New Robert Pattinson Movie: will you see it? NEW YORK - Robert Pattinson says he wasn't prepared to film his first sex scenes for the upcoming period drama " Little Ashes ." The "Twilight " actor portrays Spanish artist Salvador Dali as a young man. He tells GQ magazine 's April issue that he was uncomfortable as crew members watched and giggled during his graphic interlude with a male co-star. "In a lot of ways, I was kind of crossing lines of what I thought I was comfortable doing," he said. "I had to do all this naked stuff."
Spanish Speakers please translate!? Bits in capitals are the bits I think should be in the subjunctive. Generally I like all films, especially action films because they excite me a lot! My preferred film is "Entrapment" because the actors seem very talented to me (use parecer). "Catherine-Zeta Jones" is a marvellous actress and I think that she is prettier than all the other actrices.I and my friend (female friend) have seen it (please use perfect tense) at the cinema and I liked it a lot. I saw an advert on the television for Entrapment and I decided to watch it. Also,My friend (female) wanted to see it because she loved "sean Connery". We adored the scene in the film when "catherine" stole 8 billion dollars from every bank in south-east Asia. It amazed me! I really liked the part at the end of the film in the train station. It was good when the police didn't think that the train WOULD ARRIVE on time. I hope that there will be a sequel of Entrapment. IT WOULD BE FANTASTIC if they robbed information from MI5. continued... It would make me laugh! At home, I have the DVD of Entrapment. I bought it two months ago. In my opinion it is the best film in the world. The only thing that I hate is the ending because they don't tell us how they spend their money.

Pans Labyrinth movie question!? Ok, so im starting to Notice that people are saying the film is Spanish as in Spain spanish. Yes MOST not all of the actors in the movie are Spanish cause it was filmed in Spain mostly but in Mexico also, and the Director AND creator of the movie is Mexican and so was the distributing film company Other details are that is wasnt produced in Spain, it was produced in Mexico not Spain. So i see that most people are saying that its Spanish cause of the Spanish type of the language of spanish or dialect i should say. So according to websites it is Mexican but people say its Spanish. Btw that is my question haha Juhi D Look at YOUR name, your probably of forein descent or wait i forgot everyone in this country is! Can you translate this into Japanese / Chinese / French / Italian / German / Russian? And please, no online translators. They never get it right, and you know it. This is for my deviantART and YouTube accounts, for profile information that can be addressed to my largely multicultural audience. I'd appreciate native speakers of these languages to translate the following passage for me (with Romaji included for the Japanese translation): "Good day. I thought it was about time I uploaded some form of audio material here on deviantART and YouTube, so here is a rough profile of myself. You all know me as Isaac Sinclair. That isn't my real name, but it will be as soon as I can afford the documents to legally change it. I am a mixture of English, French, Russian, Armenian and South African to my knowledge. I am also rather culturally eclectic where my preferences are concerned: My favourite cooking style is Italian, but my favourite food is German and my favourite drink is American and so is my favourite male singer. My favourite actor, author and book are English and my favourite actress is Ukranian. My favourite artist was Spanish. My favourite film and architectural style are Chinese. My favourite art style, TV shows, books, music, sport, video games, art tools, confectionery, band and female singer are all Japanese. So there's no xenophobia there at all. I don't have a favourite genre of music, but I am quite partial to bubblegum dance music. The same can be said for my taste in video games and films; as long as I enjoy the individual product, I pay no regard to its genre. I have enjoyed anime, manga and Japanese video games since my childhood, and they provided my artistic inspiration since I was three years old. But I only started getting into music when my father introduced me to music of Michael Jackson and Queen, and at the same time I was obsessed with video game music. Browsing my gallery, you can expect to find the following: My own projects and ideas, commission work and pansexual fetish art including podophilia, knismolagnia, kinbaku, aquaphilia, BDSM, agalmatophilia, necrophilia, forniphilia and uniform. I feel extremely passionate about my art, and as I'm quite sure many of you know, I have some rather specific views on the subject. But I digress. I am also currently in college studying for my English A levels, then I will move on to my teaching degree as it is my goal to teach the English language in Japanese schools. I also attend a morning class on Saturdays for Japanese language studies. Other languages, I study in my own time. In my spare time I enjoy drawing, doll making, graphic design and working on my own projects as well as commission work for others, and regularly lend my vocal skills to amateur projects such as voice acting and UTAU backing vocals. I also play a lot of video games, primarily on Xbox LIVE. I will also be taking up Kendo in September. A lot of people tend to get the wrong idea about me just because I have mood swings and am extremely paranoid and cautious about people, but I have been told by a few people that I am fun to be around once you get to know me. I practice Shintoism and believe in Imperialistic politics and progress in society and technology, and I am strongly against sugarcoating opinions and exasperating ignorance among stupid people. I also hold some interests in world affairs, and enjoy debating the subjects of politics, religion, etc. So don't feel afraid to bring up the subject, but don't run away the moment I begin to debate something, especially if you started it. I am pretty warm toward people so long as you give me reason to trust you, and I enjoy listening to people's problems and offering any support I can. That is about all I can say about myself, and all you really need to know. Thank you for listening, and good day." I appreciate any and all help in translating this passage into the 5 aforementioned languages. Something I forgot: I am 6 feet 3 inches tall, I have rather light skin, my eyes are deep brown and my hair is the darkest shade of brown.

How do I tell my parents what my real career dreams are? I always had trouble with my parents telling them about my choices of careers. The first day I told them that I wanted to pursue a career in Theatre & Film they were completely mad at me because they said that I'm way too smart to have a career like that. (By the way, I'm not smart I'm just dedicated, I have a 4.17 GPA) So, I threw off the Theatre career off from the list. Then, I told them that I wanted to be a Spanish teacher and raise my way up to being a university professor, and guess what? They were even more mad than before! They said that it wasn't a good career. So I threw it off the list. My dad later told me about Business Administration, so I started looking at the career and then decided that I would study that. Later on I figured that I didn't decide to study Business Administration because I like it, it was because I wanted to please my dad. So I threw it off the list. Later on I decided to become a pilot, and my parents were disgusted by it because they said they didn't want me to be on a plane for the rest of my life and I figured that I really didn't wanted to do that either so I threw it off the list. My parents were looking at me like some Einstein, that I was able to become anything I wanted, so they said I should look into healthcare careers. Honestly, I don't like hospitals or any type of career that is medical, though, I still looked into it. So I told them I wanted to be a pharmacist, and they were completely happy about it. Today, I spent almost all of the morning and all of the evening thinking about my future and my career, and I know you see it coming, I don't want to be a pharmacist. For the fact that I don't like Chemistry! and also because I'm just pleasing my parents! So, as I said, I spent almost all this day just laying there on the bed looking at the ceiling thinking about my ideal career and I found out that I want to be a Spanish and Theatre teacher and work my way up to achieve my goal as a professor in university and as an actor in Broadway. I want to teach high school students the Spanish language and read novels with them (oh! I want to be an AP Spanish teacher I know it is hard work 'cause I've seen everything about it) I had AP Spanish with a very cool teacher and she simply doesn't teach, she goes beyond with each novel we read and applied it to everyday life experiences and problems. I want to be able to do that, I want to give students an advice, tell them how to fulfill their dreams (this applies to "Don Quixote") and more. I want to be a teacher so bad! I like school and I like the school environment, I like tutoring other students, I like teaching things to my friends, I will just love to be this type of person in the future. There is only one problem, my parents, they don't want me to be that person. My graduation date (June 15, 2010) just keeps getting closer and I simply do not know how to step up to my parents and tell them that my career intentions are not to be a pharmacist, I want to be a teacher. I don't want to hurt their feelings or make them feel sad, I just want them to be happy about what I want to become. But I also feel I been pleasing them too much! Please tell me in which way I can step up to them, I really need the help. (I'll give points to whoever answers this question with good intentions, just tell me how to do it and I'll do it)

I´m writing a guide based in a communist movie wich is mading it now on my city. Give me your opinion? Hello, sorry for my bad english. I´m from Barcelona. I´m writing a guide of a movie. My idea is based in an american movie wich is now doing in Barcelona, Kevin Spacey and Collin Farrell. The film is directed by Hugh Hudson, it´s called "Catalonia" and talk about the Spanish Civil War ( 1936-1939 ) This movie is being made from a point of view that the socialists were good and that they were just victims, pursuit by rebels' military ( conservatives ) What this Kevin Spacey´s movie does not illustrate or rather keeps hidden is that in Catalunya, my land, the socialists, before the war came, commonly violated nuns, pursuit the businessmen, burned out the churchs and killed priests. There were 3 socialists and 7 rightists of every 10 assassinated The guide of the movie that I write is focused on the movie shooting itself. The first part of my story and guide explain the Hugh Hudson´s story, a lot of actors playing the roles: communists goods and peaceful and the conservatives people, and priests or/and militaries like the bad of the movie. The priest Padre Ignacio ( Father Ignacio ) is one of the villain on the Hudson´s movie and is played by an actor, obviously. But on the second part of my movie will appear the real Padre Ignacio break the shooting in order to tell Hugh who is he (the "bad" of his movie) and everything what really happened in the past, they will speak about all of it. What can you think about my movie?
Why doesn't Hollywood have movie actors the way European movies have them? I enjoy watching American romantic comedies, but I hate American romantic movies. They are just too fake for me! I like watching European romantic films, for me it's not a problem watching a movie in English, French or Spanish. There are several reason I like European romantic films, and not American ones. 1.- In American romantic films it seems they always want to have at least one character if not all of them living an extravagant life of luxury. European films usually never deal with that, it's always plain regular middle class people (I can relate to that) 2.- In American movies, even the characters who are supposedly poor look totally ripped, they look like they spend a lot of time working out, and they look as though they've been taking supplements. The actors both male and female have so much make up on they just don't look like an average person would. Plus both male and female actors look like they've had some work done on their face (botox, plastic surgery.) The actors in Europeans films are attractive, but they are the kind of attractive people you might run into in a mall, or in any real situation. 3.- European teen movies don't have American cliqués such as: -The shy girl who gets a make over, and is now beautiful. -The geek in love with the popular girl. European teen movies don't label character as: the popular people, the jocks, the cheerleaders, the nerds, the band geeks, the black token guy. Characters in European films simply don't have these labels, so they are given more background to their personalities, thus making them more interesting characters. Why doesn't Hollywood take a break from its cliqués and extravagant unrelatable characters?

Help! I have ambitions of acting for a long time but have chosen the wrong path and have a few difficulties!? Hi, I am in desperate need of help! I have had an ambition to act for a long time...Whilst at High School I was in a couple of performance - nothing big but loved every minute of it. I also used to go to stage school only for about 6 months as my GCSEs were approaching. I am now at college studying for my A levels in French, Spanish and English. I have never done drama at a level more than KS3 but love acting and have no idea how to get back into it. My parents wouldn't approve of me acting thinking that its a dead end and therefore cannot talk to them about it. I see all these brilliant actors in films and on stage and want to be a part of it so badly. I'm not after fame or any of that stuff (although I wouldn't say no to it) I'm just hoping there are people out there who will point me in the right direction and help me :) Thanks Jack P.s. I'm a member of starnow.com but I feel that isn't really going to get me anywhere...anyway I'll let you do the advise part :) cheers
One C in junior year algebra, colleges? I'm a junior, and I'm probably going to get a C in Algebra 2. I've never ever gotten a C before in my life, so it makes me SO sad. You have no idea. =( Last semester I had no C's. My other grades for this semester: 0 period : Teacher's Assistant (A) 1st period: AP Spanish 4 (B, but weighted to an A) 2nd period: Algebra 2 (C) 3rd period: Wind Ensemble (A) 4th Period: World History (A) 5th Period: Anatomy and Physiology (A) 6th Period: Honors English (B....weighted to A) Here is my explanation. So, I own this website, and I'm only 16. It's the number one website about Twilight, the massively popular book series that is now being made into a movie. It gets over 20,000 unique visits per day, and I handle the advertising, news posting, and we are in direct contact with the company making the movie. Last year I got invited to the premiere of the film and got to interview the stars (http://www.youtube.com/hisgoldeneyesdotcom) and this year I got invited to the set of the film. It was an amazing experience. I got to watch the movie be filmed and talk to the director of the film (Chris Weitz) and the main actors there. This summer I am invited to a fundraiser with all the cast there and they are paying for my plane ticket, and I am going to two other Twilight conventions. The set visit caused me to miss a LOT of math, which I struggle in. So now I have a C almost definetly. I took the final today and think I did awesome, but I need over a 100 percent on it to raise it to a B. (bonus questions) I want to go to college and major in film/marketing, multimedia communications, advertising, or something that I'm already doing and enjoy! Will be C kill my hopes and dreams? Ughh. =(
Is Eclipse going to be the final episode of the "Twilight" series? Summit Entertainment has contracted Juan Antonio Bayona to direct "Eclipse", the third and final episode of the "Twilight" vampire trilogy. A protégé of the great Guillermo del Toro, this Spanish director has already proven himself with the outstanding "The Orphanage" (2007). Considering his experience in the realms of horror and fantasy, we can look forward to a beautiful end to the saga begun by Catherine Hardwicke barely a year ago. Before then, Chris Weitz will direct the second episode "New Moon", which is due for release on 20th November of this year. Although each film has its own director, the actors will remain the same, with Robert Pattinson continuing in the lead role as the vampire Edward Cullen. "Eclipse" should see the light of day on 30th June 2010. Source: http://arabia.msn.com/Entertainment/Movi... Is this true? =/ I know. . I know. But, it seems like they're going to end the MOVIES with Eclipse. Please read the whole thing :( Ps. I've read the books, I know that the last one is Breaking Dawn -____- and Midnight Sun MIGHT be published, and I doubt that tbh =/ Sonruni: -_______- Once again, I'm NOT talking about the books!!
How Many Mexican-American Actors Are There? How many of them are here in America? I'm just curious as I've been noticing theres a lot of "Latin" actors and I guess as a "race" i should be proud that were featured in films. But... I've noticed a lot of those actors are Puerto-rican,spanish or from the Dominican Republic. Not too many Mexican _amer actors out there now. And one (cough cough jessica alba!) is even ashamed of her heritage I know the obvious ones like Salma, Alba, Anthony Quinn, Etc. But who else is out there right now that is alive and acting? I feel a sad absence from my people. im obviously talking about the ones who "made it big" there's no need top get snarky!

I'm a member of Key Club, National Art Honors Society and International Thespian Society. And I've done School plays every year of course. This summer I plan to be a counselor at our Theatre camp and a junior Counselor at a Spanish Camp for kids. And I'm applying to attend the young actors classes at The Lee Strasberg Institute of Theatre and Film this summer. Help me please!!!!!!? title of film is fame summary oh the story of the film Baler is a classic set love story played in the role by Anne Curtis and Jericho Rosales. It has a unique set up of the love story between a Spaniard and a Filipina that happened in the siege of Baler, Quezon in the World War where we fought the Spaniard colonization. The HUKBALAHAP or Hukbo Laban sa Hapon is the main army of the Philippines that time who resisted in the war against the Japanese and can be clearly manifested in this movie as the same people who fought against the colonization by the Spaniards. The movie, Baler is played in the perfect combination by Anne Curtis, a Filipina who fell in love with Jericho Rosales a Spaniard. This is yet another once in a lifetime team up by two of the best actors and actress in Philippine cinema. Baler is a movie that captures a different twist in its story as set in the early times of the Filipino-Spanish colonization and as the warring parties come across. my answer is correct. i think this film is worth viewing for young people because............ For the most part I feel that young people are truly making an effort in various ways to be wise enough to seek the wisdom from the older generation while the older adults should also realize that the younger generation have some good ideas and meshing the 'old with the new' can be very productive in every aspect of life. I believe from my own experiences that the gap is closing in all the time if both parties reach out and make an effort. my answer is correct the think i liked best about this film was..... A guy should never come between friendship. You and your friend need to talk and decide the best from there. Don't get into a fight because of a guy. Remember, Guys don't always stick around, but friends are there forever. my answer is correct. the thing i liked least about this film was....... it protects the teeth by creating a protective film called pellicles, which regulates the adherence of bacteria and yeast and protects against acid protects against microorganisms via lactoferrin, lysozyme, IgA, and lactoperoxidase initiates digestion by secreteting primarily salivary amylase but also lingual lipase a solvent for tastants (chemicals that stimulate the tast receptors) lubricates food to assist in swallowing it alos lubricates the mouth in general during speech my answer is correct.
Pro-Europeans - a few questions ? Who's your favourite French pop singer? Do you enjoy German films? Whos your favourite German (ie acts only in Germany, not Rutger Hauer!) actor? What do you think of Italian TV? Who's your favourite Polish Celebrity? Whats your favourite Polish TV show? Name me a prominent Lithuanian politician? Which are your favourite shops in Czechoslovakia? Your favourite Czech food? What do you think about Greek nightlife? Your fave nightclubs? How many European languages do you speak fluently? Who's your favourite Spanish author? Can you actually answer any of these questions? Because I'm sorry but I can't see we in the UK as having much, if anything, in common with the other countries in the EU, which is why I remain 100% opposed to it. It seems to benefit others, but not us. Can you name me a welsh language actor? Ioan Gruffudd before he became Famous How many non-English native languages do you speak (welsh, gaelic etc)? Rw'yn siarad Cymraeg - wel tipyn bach! The way some of you pro-Euros have to resort to childish insults ("grow up") etc to enforce your arguments just highlight how weak your arguments are. And if I don't listen to Polish pop or watch German films its because I'm not interested not because I'm not "culturally aware"! Anti-EU and proud.
There's been lots of speculation about this, what race was Hannibal? Here's what Richard Poe, a "white source" has to say about it: [BLACK SCHOOLCHILDREN have long admired Hannibal as a racial role model. The African general, who marched on Italy in 218 B.C., hailed from Carthage, in what is now Tunisia. But was Hannibal actually black? Two films currently in the pipeline offer conflicting answers to that question. A resounding "Yes!" comes from Fox studios, whose upcoming Hannibal epic will star Denzel Washington. British director Ridley Scott responds with a somewhat less resounding, "sort of." His Hannibal epic will star Vin Diesel – an actor who looks Mediterranean, calls himself "multicultural," and is reputed to be part black and part Italian. Some commentators dismiss the actors’ appearance as irrelevant. "…though I think that Diesel is phenotypically closer to Hannibal – I'm not sure if he can bring the sort of iron tragic gravity to the story of the ancient Carthaginian that someone like Washington is known for," remarks Razib K, a 25-year-old Bangladeshi immigrant with a biochemistry degree who co-edits the popular blog-site Gene Expression, known for its frank discussions of race. Other critics place more importance on "phenotype" or physical traits. "That’s the stuff, boys. Africa! Cuddly Blacks v. Wicked Anglo-Saxon Romans! Great box-office!" sneers British writer Peter Jones in The Spectator. Jones says, "black Africans (the so-called Negroid type)… did not inhabit the coastline of north Africa…" Actually, many blacks have lived there, from ancient times to the present. Jones is correct, however, in saying that the Carthaginians were descended from Phoenician colonists. "The Phoenicians were a Semitic people from along the coast of Lebanon/Syria," he writes. "Expert traders, they established way-stations along the Mediterranean... From such beginnings… Carthage arose." Wellesley classicist Mary Lefkowitz – whose book Not Out of Africa claimed that Western civilization owed little or nothing to Egypt or any other African nation – does acknowledge that, "the Phoenician colonists could have intermarried with native African peoples." However, like Jones, Lefkowitz states that Hannibal was a "Semite" – thereby implying that he probably looked more like Diesel than Washington. When UPI pundit Steve Sailer put the Diesel-vs.-Washington question to me, I too suggested that Hannibal probably looked more like Diesel. And the odds are he did. Even so, it is just possible that Hannibal looked more like Washington. Here’s why. The fact that Phoenicians spoke a Semitic language does not necessarily mean they were Semites. Language and race are two different things. There are, for instance, plenty of Spanish-speakers in the world whose ancestors did not come from Spain. As noted in my book Black Spark, White Fire the Bible clearly indicates that the Phoenicians – a Canaanite people – were not of Semitic descent. The word "Semitic" applies to those peoples who were descended from Noah’s son Shem. But, according to Genesis 9-10, the Canaanites were descended from another of Noah’s sons, Ham. Genesis states that there were four Hamitic nations: "Cush, Mizraim, Put and Canaan." Mizraim is Egypt. Cush is Nubia, or the Sudan. "Put" likely refers to a land the Egyptians called Punt, which probably lay in Ethiopia or Somalia. Thus, every Hamitic nation, except Canaan, appears to be located in Africa. Of course, not all readers believe the Bible. But even an atheist must wonder why the Biblical scribes believed that Phoenicians and other Canaanites were related to people in Africa. Was it something about their appearance? The Babylonian Talmud, set to writing in the sixth century A.D., records a Jewish oral tradition that the Canaanites were black. In it, Noah curses his grandson Canaan, saying: "Canaan’s children shall be born ugly and black!… your grandchildren’s hair shall be twisted into kinks…" Regarding the Phoenicians, Italian anthropologist Giuseppe Sergi noted in 1901 that, "the Egyptians have represented them of a brick-red color, like themselves…" And, indeed, a tomb painting of the Egyptian pharaoh Seti I portrays four Syro-Palestinians, two with yellow skin, two with reddish-brown skin. Were the artists trying to depict two distinct physical types – dark-skinned Hamites and lighter-skinned Semites – known to live in Canaan? We can only guess. The Lebanese descendants of the Phoenicians don’t look particularly black today, but that could well be for the same reason that Vin Diesel does not look particularly black: intermarriage. In 1852, 14 percent of Argentina’s population was black. Virtually no trace of this black population remains after 150 years of intermarriage. Portugal too absorbed its black population – which had reached 10 percent by 1550 – through intermarriage. None of this proves that Hannibal looked like Denzel Washington. But it does suggest that we should be less quick to dismiss the poss
