Best way to learn Spanish at home? Well I love this language, and have finally decided to self teach myself Spanish. How is the best way of doing this? Which software is best do you think? I already listen to music in Spanish and now I can find some movies in Spanish but I won't have anyone to talk to to practice. Any tips?
Where can I watch movies dubbed in Spanish Online? Im a spanish student and I think watching movies might be the best way to learn how to speak more fluently. Ive been trying to rent dvds but Im in Spain and the European DVD format does not work on my computer. I was wondering if there was an equivalent website to things like alluc.org or watchtvsitcoms.com etc that has links to streaming movies or tv shows (yeah i know, illegal... deeply sorry). Thanks!
What are the best books to learn Spanish? I can understand Spanish very well, but I have never learned to write. I've got tons of DVDs with movies in Spanish, but I need something about the grammar and stuff. Any suggestions?
Where is the best spanish speaking country? To go study abroad for a year? I will be 16. I love to play guitar, and go to movies and cafes and meet new people. and of course pretty girls. How do you say 'My Sister's Keeper' in Spanish? I need to say, in my opinion, what I think is the best movie in Spanish. Would I keep the title in English or translate the title to Spanish. This is what I have so far: La mejor película es...
Best way to perfect Spanish? I've taken six years of spanish in high school and plan on continuing speaking it in college, including studying abroad in spain. Until then.. what's the best way to perfect it? Should i watch spanish movies, read books in spanish, listen to spanish music? Any ideas?
What is the best way to learn Spanish? Hey! I already speak French fluently and have some experience in learning Spanish, but I'm looking for a way to really learn it, so that I can go to South America and live there for a while. I know that the best way to learn would be to just go there, but the jobs I will be applying for require some level of fluency, so I need to be prepared beforehand. Any ideas? Some people have suggested watching movies and learning songs by heart. Has this worked for anyone?
Where can I find American movies dubbed with Spanish voices? I think it would help my Spanish to watch American movies dubbed with Spanish voices (not just Spanish subtitles). I'd want American movies because I'd want them to be movies I've already seen in English, which would make them easier to follow. I'm looking for a fairly large supply of them. Free (online) would be best, but I might be willing to buy.
How can I best maintain my Spanish over summer break? I took 4 years of Spanish in high school and a few months ago I started loving the language. I'll be continuing Spanish next year in college, and will use my Spanish on a trip to Peru this winter. I don't want to lose any Spanish before returning to school in the fall, but I'm not sure how to best maintain it over two months without constant exposure. I learn best through conversational methods, so I was thinking of watching movies or TV in Spanish, but I only have one Spanish channel (and it's all soap operas... ew). Do you have any suggestions for Spanish movies or shows I could get on Netflix? I loved "Y Tu Mamá También" and "Pan's Labyrinth", but I found "Volver" mediocre. If there are any other language-retention suggestions you have, I'd love to hear them. But no Rosetta Stone! Too expensive.

10 points for best answer in Spanish Help? Listen and respond appropriately in Spanish to the questions. This activity will be graded for accuracy and pronunciation. Can someone just help me answer this? I just need a current movie I guess: Check your local paper for listings of movies. Pick one movie that you would like to go see. In Spanish you will then need to give the title of the movie, what theater the movie is playing in, the time of the showing and what you will eat or drink while at the movie using the future tense. Thank You!
How to test my spanish? Well, some months ago I asked how to learn spanish... I used a site and I spanish movies. But it less than 20 days there will be a competition with spanish and france. Which are the best sites for testing my spanish and french?
The best way to understand native spanish?? Hello, I am learning spanish at an intense speed and my speaking skills are coming along fine however, my ability to understand a native spanish speaker when he/she is speaking requires much improvement. Does anyone have any tips on how to best develop this skill, I realise it will come in time but I need to learn fast. I have started watching my movies in Spanish rather than English, of course I can only make out the odd word because it just sounds like they are talking very fast, do you think this is a good idea?
What's the best way to improve my Spanish (short of living in a Spanish speaking country)? I practice with my Spanish speaking friends, that live both near me and abroad, but it doesn't seem like I really have enough opportunity. I do the normal "improving in a language" stuff, like watching movies w/o subtitles, listening to music, reading newspapers, etc; and I do these things every day. I especially need to work on my aural comprehension and my ability to respond in Spanish. I no longer have to translate in my head, but it seems like I'm not really improving much as a speaker, or at least in only barely perceptible steps (like vocabulary, which is certainly important, but not everything). Ideally, of course, I would live in a Spanish speaking country for a whie, but that's not feasible for me right now. What tips do y'all have that might help?? lol :) That is a good way to improve... I have a Spanish boyfriend, but we don't see each other much (though I've improved a ton since I met him--I'm just kind of plateauing now). Thanks for the responses so far.. Just to elaborate on the question detail that I already posted, I read El Pais online every morning, I watch Spanish language movies all the time, about 85% of the music I listen to is in Spanish, etc. I live in upstate NY, where you can't get Spanish language channels on TV without paying a whole lot for the extra cable channels. Also, I'm starting my 2nd year of grad school, so I can't live in a Spanish speaking country for at least the next 3 or so years. (Also, I really don't have the money to take a vacation to one--I am a poor grad student!!). :)
Best shoot 'em up movies available on Netflix stream? Which ones are the best that I can watch streamed on my computer? I saw El Mariachi on there, but I heard that it was dubbed. I'd much rather watch is in spanish with subtitles. Any other awesome/entertaining ones out there that you can recommend?
BEST HORROR/SCARY MOVIES? Hey, could I please have some suggestions of some of the best scary movies that you have seen. My friends and I LOVE watching scary movies: the scarier and freakier, the better! We've seen The Ring, The Exorcism of Emily Rose, and The Unborn. The Ring was our favorite, but we didn't think it was that scary. (The Unborn, we didn't think was good, or scary. We subsequently renamed it The Attack of the Flying Fetus). The movie we are debating about seeing (renting) is Quarentine, or the Spanish version- Rec. Would anyone suggest this movie, and which one? The Rec is in Spanish, correct, so we would have to watch it with english subtitles. I believe what draws us in to this movie is the "home video" effect, shaky camera. Are there any other real-scary movies that you would suggest, and if so, why? Also, are there any other "home video" scary movies that are really good that we could rent? Thanks!
The best way to LEARN SPANISH? Hi I recently went on a trip to Mexico and it really inspired me to learn Spanish. I took Spanish all throughout high school (about 6-10 years ago) so I am somewhat familiar with the basics. Basically Im wondering if anyone knows of any good ways to learn spanish that is efficiant and doesnt take forever. Id really like to do a "do it yourself" type thing maybe over the internet or with books, movies, dvds, ect. I have a busy schedule so I dont really have the time to take classes but this is really something Id like to do. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Best movies about tourists/English speakers in Europe? I'm planning on studying in Paris in Spring of 2011 and I notice that I fall in love with Europe just a little bit more every time I watch a movie featuring all the beautiful architecture, streets, art, etc.,. For example, I love French and want to study in France but I just watched Vicky Christina Barcelona and it also makes me want to learn Spanish sometime down the road, too. I watched The Brothers Grimm a few weeks ago and it made me want to see the Czech Republic. Amelie, though this doesn't fit my initial question, is the film that sparked my interest in France 5 years ago. I watch French movies in French for fun, read the subtitles, and listen the best I can, sure, but I find watching movies in my native tongue just as enjoyable, you know? Any suggestions?
Where can I watch a free Spanish movie? I need to watch a full-length Spanish movie, and I need a good link for a streaming video. If you have a link that actually works, I'll give you a 5 star best answer. I would prefer a semi-recent movie like the Motorcycle Diaries or Pan's Labyrinth

I want to get a Christmas gift for a friend who loves movies and languages, any ideas? Teenage male. Very intelligent. Often stressed (perhaps a lighthearted movie is best?) He picks up languages very quickly and enjoys Latin and Spanish in particular. English wordplay is excellent too. Do you have any suggestions, or even movie titles you have always enjoyed? Also, he's enjoys photography and watching soap operas (although he doesn't let others know).

What's the best and cheapest way to learn Spanish independently over the summer? I'm a college student who has taken several years of Spanish in high school. For my freshman year, I decided to take Hindi, but after getting involved in social justice issues, I'm starting to realize Spanish is a really important language and a lot lot lot of people speak it (haha I suppose I'm a little slow on the uptake)!! So I want to get my Spanish back over the summer. I want to be able to get to the level of getting over a 650 in SAT II's or a 5 on the AP. More than all that, I would just like to be able to have a conversation with someone. Basically, I don't have any money at all, so no tutors or Rosetta Stone (lol unless I can get a bootlegged copy) and I'm not going to be traveling to any Spanish speaking countries anytime soon. I'm not looking for a quick fix thing, and I'm more than willing to work hard. Sooo what's the best way to go about this? Does anyone have any (inexpensive) books, movies, tapes, that they'd recommend? I'd really love to hear from people who are fluent in a language that's not their mother tongue.
International Movies? Hey I'm American and I was thinking if I should try watching some international movies sometime (with subtitles of course). I looked through French, Italian, Spanish, Indian, and Chinese movies. I found an Indian movie that looked fun to watch. It's called Krish or Krrish or something like that. I watched it and it was one of the best movies I have ever seen ever!!! Seriously! Who knew Indian movies were all about love and friendship? You all should watch this movie. It's called Krrish.
Best place to download movies? I'm looking for somewhere to either watch or download the Spanish Apartment (l'auberge espagnole) on my computer. Any help?
"REC" Spanish Horror Film? Has anyone seen the new spanish zombie horror movie "REC" (as in recording)? If so, what did you think of it? It's one of the best horror movies I've ever watched, as it was so tense and dramatic. Synopsis While covering the night shift at a small-town fire department, an ambitious young television reporter (Manuela Velasco) and her cameraman follow the crew on a call to rescue an elderly woman trapped in her apartment. Upon their arrival at the scene, the calm midnight air is pierced by the sound of horrific screams, and the television report takes an unexpectedly dark turn.

What was the best fake documentary-style movie you saw? With the recent success of Paranormal Activity, which the style of filmmaking is considered to be a "mockumentary", what would you say is the best fake documentary-style film you've seen? Mine would have to be "Rec", a Spanish-dubbed horror film that originally inspired "Quarantine".
The Best Jesus Movie Ever? So many movies have been made about the life of Christ. I dislike the Passion because of all the QUICK reading that must be done in order to follow the movie. I also dislike how deep Gibson went into the movie in terms of the physical aspects of Jesus' death. My favorite Jesus movie is JESUS OF NAZARETH made in 1977 starring Robert Powell as Jesus. This movie is about 6 hours long and the acting is fabulous, to say the least. I dislike the fact that in JESUS OF NAZARETH, the part where Jesus was taken to King Herod was not included. There are many other Jesus movies. I also like the 1959 Spanish Jesus movie called EL REDENTOR (The Redeemer). Very few movies include details of the resurretion as made clear in the Bible. Which is your favorite and why?

What is the name of a certain spanish song? I hear this song all the time on the radio so it should be pretty popular. it's hard to explain it though since i dont know spanish but ill do my best. its a sad sounding song. probably a love song. in the middle of the song there is a lady talking (not singing) probably to the man she loves. kind of sounds like it was taken from a movie. i know this is extremely vague but if anyone knows what im talking about, can they give me the name of the song?
