Why do american films always cast a European/British actor as the villain?
I know in some films, and video games most of the villains are British, German, French or sometimes Spanish or like in die hard, a British actor pretending to be German (Alan Rickman FTW) Why is this? P.S I Know some films have the bad guy american, but most I've seen are British men as baddies

- We just have a certain charm about us in the accent.
- 1. I like how you said "a British actor pretending to be German" thus completely disregarding the fact he was actually acting and insinuating he was pretending much like a child would therefore insulting an actor his his caliber. 2. I've seen more films with American bad guys than European. 3. Video games? I don't know what kind of games you're playing, but in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 the bad guy in the end turns out to be General Shepherd (American) and the good guys are the two remaining member of Task Force 141 (British).
- or a Russian
- We obviously make the best villains
- We have that reserved, yet oddly charismatic feel too us. It's also more normal to be odd here.
- because british/european actors can act, or because americans have a hero complex,
